“G. Love discovered the blues at his local record store – and to pay things forward, the singer-songwriter has linked up with his friend Jack Johnson to record a special 10-inch vinyl called Blood Shot and Blue for Record Store Day. “Early Rising” comes out of a recording session held last fall when G. Love visited Johnson’s Brushfire Records; he had written a batch of tunes inspired by Bukka White and Mississippi John Hurt, and the songs took shape with heavy delta blues inflections.”
